Laser dentistry:

Picasso also can be used to help sterilize canals in endodontics, treat periodontal disease, and aid in tooth whitening. Gingival troughing with the Picasso around our preparation also eliminates the need for retraction cord.

Kavo Diagnodent Pen Laser Caries Detector:

With the KaVo DIAGNOdent pen, even hidden caries can be detected quickly, easily and reliably - wherever they are. The DIAGNOdent pen is the perfect tool to completely detect proximal caries, fissure caries, and smooth surface caries.
DIAGNOdent pen works on the basis of the differing fluorescence between healthy and diseased tooth substance. This allows us to detect even the smallest of lesions, quickly and painlessly without X-rays or exposure to radiation, and in a way that is more reliable than any other method. It also helps preserve healthy tooth substance since there is no probing, no scraping and no damage.

Laser surgery eliminates many of the common complaints of traditional surgery. A laser device replaces the rotary tool and can be used for everything from tooth bleaching to surgery. Laser treatment is very gentle and quiet and heals with very little post-operative discomfort or bleeding, and may be very beneficial in many situations.The only addition to the procedure is the requirement of protective glasses to shield the eyes from the laser beam. A laser doesn't make any noise and doesn't require physical contact with your teeth. Water isn't usually needed but air suction is used to keep the treat.

• If you are on anticoagulant or take aspirin every day and your MD does not want you to stop them, then laser treatment is beneficial because of the reduced chance of bleeding during treatment.
• If you have high blood pressure and the use of Epinephrine is contraindicated, then laser treatment is for you.
• If you are allergic or hypersensitive to Epinephrine, causing rapid heart beat whenever you get Novocaine, then the use of laser treatments beneficial, since Epinephrine is not necessary to be used.

• Viewing Tooth and Gum Tissues: Optical Coherence Tomography is a safer way to see inside tooth and gums in real time.
• Nerve Regeneration: Photobiomodulation can be used to regenerate damaged nerves, blood vessels and scars.
• Sleep Apnea: In cases where sleep apnea is a result of a tissue overgrowth in areas of the throat (which sometimes occurs with age), a laser assisted uvuloplasty or laser assisted uvula palatoplasty (LAUP) procedure can be performed to reshape the throat and relieve the correlating breathing problems associated with sleep apnea.
